Empowering parents, enabling expression, nurturing words
Indiana was first introduced to the field of speech-language pathology at the age of 12, when her brother, who has Down Syndrome, began receiving early intervention at home. This experience sparked her passion for the field, and she pursued it further after high school. Indiana earned her M.A. in Communication Disorders from St. John’s University in New York City and obtained her Certification of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). She is also a proficient Spanish speaker, holding a Bilingual Extension Certification from Columbia University's Teacher’s College.
Throughout her 14 year career, Indiana has gained diverse experience in various pediatric settings, including public and private schools, home care, pediatric nursing homes, early intervention, and private practice. She has worked with children facing a range of conditions, such as speech and language delays, autism spectrum disorder, hearing and visual impairments, cerebral palsy, Down Syndrome, traumatic brain injury, and medically fragile children. Indiana is trained in multiple therapeutic approaches, including PROMPT Level 1, PECS, SOFFI, and TalkTools, and she has a special interest in working with bilingual children and those with feeding issues.
Indiana is committed to evidence-based practice and continually pursues further education to enhance her skills and improve her ability to serve her patients. She believes in providing therapy that is child-led, play-based, family-centered, fun, and nurturing.
Currently, Indiana resides in Northwest Las Vegas with her husband, young daughter, and their Morkie, Daisy. She is proud to serve the Las Vegas community, helping children and families achieve their communication goals.
